Dick Sorensen, Vice President of Ritz Catering, is the proud winner of the 1997 Esprit "Créme de la Créme" award.
Creating this event at the History of Flight Museum on the ground of Port Columbus International Airport, Dick and his staff from Ritz turned this museum into a wonderful evening of "Planes, Trains and Automobiles." The guests to this non-profit fund raiser entered the building past vintage automobiles and were directed to the main display hanger. Here they entered the wonderful world of magic. A massive multi-colored material covered the entire ceiling and was lighted in jewel tones. Centerpieces of Planes, Trains and Autos graced each table. Food was exciting and plentiful and served by waiters costumed as airline mechanics with the theme silk-screened on their backs. Music was by Phil Dirt and the Dozers! The guests partied all night long.

The following year, 1998, we were a first runner up for another Esprit Award.
Dick Sorensen and his staff at Ritz are the only catering firm in Ohio to be so recognized and honored.

What is an Esprit Award?
Esprit Awards recognizes excellence in the special events industry. Along with gala awards, Esprit Awards are presented in a juried international competition of our peers in the International Special Events Society (ISES.) The competition is rigorous and highly structured with entrees coming from around the world. This is truly the Oscar of our industry.

"Business First" Columbus' Weekly Business Newspaper Gives Award to Ritz
Ritz Catering Company was awarded the prestigious Business First "Corporate Caring" Award in the Arts and Humanities category. This award recognized our commitment to Columbus for work we did for the Columbus Museum of Art.
