General Conditions for the use of Ritz Catering Facilities
We are pleased to have the opportunity to assist you with your very special event. All Caterers and Renters must respect the special nature and working conditions of the building. Specific items and terms will be listed in your contract as well as for your caterer, florist, DJ and anyone else that will be assisting you.
The following rules and policies will apply to all pre-approved caterers using these premises:
- Caterers must have general liability insurance including product liability in an amount not less than One Million Dollars. Approved Catering Service or Renter must show proof of current health license and workers compensation license.
- Facility fee is $800.00 for a Friday event and $950.00 for a Saturday event. Sunday thru Thursday events are $600.00.
- Upon the selection of the event date, a rental agreement shall be completed. Upon receipt of the rental agreement, a non-refundable payment of $ 500.00 is due the day the contract is signed to hold the room for the Approved Catering Service or Renter. Final payment is three days prior to the event.
- The Approved Catering Service Provider shall pay 15% of the gross food and beverage receipts. An event sheet must be provided to Ritz Catering prior to the event.
- Ritz Catering is not responsible for lost or left articles. The approved Catering Service Provider or Renter hereby releases and saves harmless Ritz Catering, its representatives, agents, tenants, invitees, members, trustees and employees from any and all liabilities for loss of, or damage to, property, equipment and materials from fire, theft or causality and shall be the sole responsibility of the Approved Catering Service Provider or Renter.
- The Approved Catering Service Provider or Renter hereby assures and saves harmless Ritz Catering, it's representatives, agents, tenants, invitees, members, trustees and employees from acts of commission or omission arising out of its operations hereunder, for which the Approved Catering Service Provider or Renter is liable and the Caterer or Renter shall reimburse Ritz Catering, its representatives, agents, tenants, invitees, members, trustees and employees, for any claims, losses, damages, judgements and expenses, including attorney's fees, which they may incur as a result of such acts.
- Ritz Catering assumes no responsibility for any vehicles, contents, or parking violations during delivery, the actual event and tear down.
- The Approved Catering Service Provider or Renter must have at least one person remain on the premises until that function is over. They shall leave the kitchen area in the same condition as when they started, assist in turning out lights and securing the building. The caterer or renter must see the Ritz Catering building manager before leaving and go over the cleaning/closing checklist at the end of an event.
- The Approved Catering Service Provider or Renter has access to the building for four hours for the actual event unless pre-approved by Ritz Catering; you will be permitted into the building two hours prior to your event. Additional time must be pre-approved. After the event, the Pre-approved Caterer or Renter will have 1 ½ hours for cleanup etc…
- The Approved Catering Service or Renter will provide all linens, skirting, china, glassware, silverware, catering equipment etc… Ritz Catering is only responsible for putting out tables, chairs and making sure everything is clean and ready to go.
- The Approved Catering Service or Renter must hire a Columbus City Police Officer, or must let Ritz Catering know so that they are able to hire CPD; the charge will be added to the total bill.
- Ritz Catering will provide the bartenders for parties when a bartender is needed (unless otherwise discussed with Ritz management). No alcohol will be brought onto the premises. The bar will be the responsibility of Ritz Catering and bar packages, etc. must be worked out prior to your event.
- A Ritz Catering bartender is $20.00 an hour, (Four hour minimum.)
- A room set-up/layout must be provided 7 days prior to your event.
- All DJ's, Bands, outside contractors etc… must show proof of insurance and workman's compensation 7 business days prior to the event.
The Following Rules apply to all Pre-Approved Caterers or Renters Using these Premises:
- We are an appointment facility, so please call before visiting. If you refer a client to us please call us and register that client.
Set up:
- It is recommended that you provide your own equipment for moving your products in and out of the facility.
- You are responsible for notifying Ritz staff of all deliveries to be made. A Ritz Catering representative must approve set-up, delivery, pick-up and preparation times.
- The use of glitter, confetti, rice and birdseed is prohibited. No items may be hung on or affixed to the walls, doors, and windows, painted surfaces or columns. Tacks, nails, tape or other hanging devices are prohibited. Self-adhering signs or decorations are prohibited on any surface. No decorations may be attached to overhead electrical ducts, overhead light fixtures or exit signs. OPEN FLAMES ARE PROHIBITED.
- The Approved Catering Service or Renter will provide their own ice, extension cords, power strips, three prong or two prong adapters or anything else you may anticipate needing throughout the event.
Clean Up:
- Stack chairs (8 per stack) at the end of the event, vacuum, and sweep, around the tables. Mop the kitchen, foyer, and bathrooms. Mop and clean all spills as soon as they occur.
- The Approved Catering Service Provider or Renter will provide their own trash bags and re-line trash container with clean trash sacks.
- The Approved Catering Provider or Renter will be responsible for removal of all trash from the tables, kitchen tables, sinks, counters, and trash containers and for placing all the trash in the Dumpster located outside of the building.
- All equipment, decorations and décor must be removed from the facility immediately at the end of the event. Any items left are not the responsibility of Ritz Catering; these items are subject to a storing fee of $75.00 per day.
- The owner will provide necessary brooms, mops, buckets, and vacuum cleaners for renter's use. The Approved Catering Provider or Renter is responsible for clean up of any areas used. These areas include but are not limited to: staging area, kitchen, and hallways, loading area, bathrooms and foyer. If the area requires additional cleaning by Ritz Catering a charge of $ 100.00 per hour of cleaning will be assessed to The Approved Catering Provider or Renter.

- Linens: (White)

$10.00 / piece (must specify color, burgundy, black, white, green)
- Glassware:
Water Glasses: $.50 / glass
Irish Coffee Mugs: $.50 / mug
Champagne Flutes: $.50 / flute
- Chaffers:
$6.50 / Chaffer which includes stenos, deep pans, lids, utensils, etc.
- Place settings:
Knife, Fork, Spoon - Standard Silver Place setting $2.50
Each additional piece $.75 (Salad fork, Soup Spoon, Dessert Fork, etc.
- Salt & Pepper Shakers:
$2.00 / set
- Sugar & Creamers on tables:
$2.00 for sugar
$2.00 for creamer
Caterer must give Ritz a final count 10 business days prior to the event date for the rental items needed.
Lost, broken, or unaccounted for items will result in a charge to the caterer.
